Maine Warden Service K-9 Unit Locates Missing Hallowell Women

Maine Warden Service K-9 handler Mark Merrifield and K-9 Aspen located a missing elderly woman from Hallowell at approximately 11:45 p.m. Sunday, August 17.

The Maine Warden Service received a call at approximately 7 p.m. that Agatha Bergeron of Hallowell was last seen by her family at 1 p.m. Sunday and was presumed missing.

Game Warden Merrifield and Aspen located Bergeron in a field near a windmill approximately a half-mile from her home in good health and physical condition.

Also called to the scene were Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Hallowell Police officers, and Maine Search and Rescue Dogs.

This is the third incident of an elderly individual being located safely by a Maine Warden Service K-9 unit in the last month.
