Boy shot when duck hunting

A 10-year-old boy suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at approximately 9 a.m. today while duck hunting with his father near Sabattus.

According to Warden Sgt. Terry Hughes, the boy’s father, Claude bolduc, 52, of Bowdoin, was picking up his shotgun from the bottom of his canoe when the firearm discharged. The boy suffered pellet wounds and was treated at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

The incident is under investigation.
