Superpack Antlerless Deer Permit FAQ'sHow do I apply for a Superpack deer permit? After you purchase a Superpack license, you may apply online for a Superpack deer permit as part of the regular Any-Deer permit application process. Superpack license holders will apply using the Any-Deer permit application and check off that they have a Superpack license. They will also specify in which WMD’s they wish to apply for a Superpack deer permit. The actual quantity of Superpack deer permits in each WMD that offers any will be listed on the application. What is a Superpack deer permit? If you are successful in receiving a Superpack deer permit, you have permission to legally hunt and register a second deer that can be taken during the regular archery, firearm or muzzleloader season. Deer taken on a Superpack deer permit must be an antlerless deer. How many Superpack deer permits will be issued? In any Wildlife Management Districts with more than 5,000 Any-Deer permits, up to 2.5% of the permits will be given to Superpack license holders as Superpack deer permits. In 2008, there are 642 Superpack deer permits available in 3 Wildlife Management Districts. How will the permit be assigned? By computerized lottery, each application will be assigned a random number; the lowest numbers win. After the Landowner and regular Any-Deer lotteries, Superpack applications that have not won will be matched to the Superpack deer permit pool and the winners will receive a Superpack deer permit. If available Superpack deer permits run out in all of the WMD’s chosen by an applicant, the applicant will not win a Superpack deer permit. Does buying the Superpack license guarantee that I will get a permit to register a second deer? No. If there are more Superpack deer permit applicants than there are available permits, it is possible that some applicants will not win a Superpack deer permit. Can a non-resident apply for a Superpack deer permit? No. Only residents may buy a Superpack license. What happens if there are more permits available than applications for Superpack permits? Any extra Superpack deer permits not allocated to Superpack applicants will be transferred to the regular Any-Deer resident application pools. Can Superpack license holders also apply for the regular Any-Deer permit lottery? Yes. All Superpack applications will be entered into the appropriate landowner (25% of the permits) or regular Any-Deer lotteries. A Superpack application will not be entered into the bonus deer lottery if they have already been issued a Superpack deer permit. Superpack license holders will most likely win one permit. They will not win two permits. How many deer can a Superpack deer permit winner legally register? Two deer may be taken during the regular archery, firearms, or muzzleloader seasons. At least one of the deer must be an antlerless deer taken in the specified WMD. You may NOT legally register two bucks.
