Youth Field Days
Where young people have the opportunity to learn skills in shooting, trapping, hunting, fishing, survival, ATV operation, and more.
Youth Field Days provide an opportunity for boys and girls to learn various outdoor skills that will last them a lifetime. Rod and gun clubs, sportsman's groups from throughout the state, and the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife join together to create this unique hands-on outdoor learning opportunity.
At each field day, children are divided into groups each with a group guide that escorts them through different activity stations. Each group will spend approximately 45 minutes at each station. Certified instructors, Maine guides, and other outdoor professionals staff each station. The activity stations range from ATV operation to flycasting to .22 rifle shooting.
Attendance is limited at these events to ensure personalized instruction and supervision and there is no fee to participate. These events are expected to fill up quickly so be sure to sign up soon!
