Welcome to the Intergovernmental Advisory Commission web site.
The IAC is a permanent, 19-member commission created by the Legislature to find ways to improve efficiencies within and among four levels of government (state, county, regional, and municipal) and to provide state assistance to encourage regionalization and cost effective service delivery. Specifically, the committee is to develop incentives for and remove barriers to intergovernmental cooperation. It meets six times per year and reports annually to the Governor and Legislature. It also has authority to report out legislation.
