Board Committees

The Board has set up the following Committees to work on its various projects and report on the Board's finances.

Finance Committee: Bill Hanson, Chair; Mike Smith; Larry Harwood

The responsibilities of the Board's Finance Committee are budget oversight, recommending budget actions to the Board for approval, and primary interaction with outside entities on financial issues.

Policy Committee: Marilyn Lutz, Chair; Nancy Armentrout; Greg Copeland; Bill Hanson

The responsibilities of the Policy Committee are policy oversight, memorializing approved GeoLibrary policies/standards, recommending policy adoptions and amendments to the Board, and interacting with outside entities on policy issues.

Technical Committee: Christopher Kroot, Chair; Gretchen Heldmann; Ken Murchison; Greg Copeland; Dan Coker; Stu Rich; Mike Smith

The GeoLibrary Board is responsible for overseeing the Maine Library of Geographic Information "to ensure that it operates as a coordinated, cost-effective electronic gateway providing public access to data custodian's public geography information."The design and implementation process for the GeoLibrary includes complex technical issues that must be evaluated thoroughly by representatives and staff of the Board in order to provide the Board with appropriate background and sufficient information to base policy decisions on. The purpose of this Committee is to act as the technical eyes and ears of the Board, working with Board staff to solicit and evaluate input on technical matters.
