1.  Ratification of Minutes of the February 25, 2010 Meeting

Motion:  To adopt the minutes as drafted noting a typographical error.

Seconded by:  Mr. Duchette
Vote:  4-0  (motion passed)


2.  Petition by the National Organization for Marriage to Stay Investigation
The Commission considered an application by the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) and others to stay enforcement of the subpoenas issued to NOM and to its executive director, Brian Brown, in connection with the Commission’s investigation of NOM to determine if it should have registered and filed reports as a ballot question committee in 2009. 

Motion:  That the Commission deny NOM’s request for stay of enforcement of subpoenas in connection with the Commission’s investigation.

3.  Update on Administration of Maine Clean Election Act Program
Candidates for governor seeking Maine Clean Election Act funding are required to submit qualifying paperwork to the Commission by April 1, 2010.  The Commission staff will provide an update to the Commissioners concerning the staff’s activities in connection with the deadline. No action necessary.
