How to Get Started

Required Forms

To begin participating in the Maine Clean Election Act, candidates must file the following forms with the Ethics Commission. Faxed copies cannot be accepted.

• Registration
• New Vendor Form (must be submitted early to establish payment account with State)
• The Declaration of Intent form must be submitted before collecting qualifying contributions. Qualifying contributions accepted before the Declaration of Intent is filed will not be counted toward the eligibility requirements.

Optional Forms

• Maine Code of Fair Campaign Practices
• Authorization for Direct Deposit Services (if candidate prefers electronic transfer of MCEA funds).
