Click below to download the Interfacility Transfer Decision Tree: Interfacility Transfer Decision Tree Shortage ProtocolsIn response to identified shortages, interim protocols have been approved by the Medical Directions and Practice Board. Prior to implementation, providers must be appropriately trained and Maine EMS must be notified about the shortage and the anticipated length of time the interim protocol may be necessary.
Special Circumstances Protocol:There are situations when a patient has a specific medical condition that requires emergency medical treatment, which may not be part of the Maine EMS Prehospital Treatment Protocols. In these situations, patients, parents, and legal guardians may request a Special Circumstances Protocol that would identify the patient’s special medical condition and the treatment(s) required in the event of an emergency.
FCC LicenseLicensed ambulance services in Maine are authorized by the license issued to Maine EMS (WPHU789) to use the frequency 155.385 and must operate in accordance with license. This authorization may be revoked if use is not in compliance with the above referenced FCC license.
