Program Description – written by Tutorial Services

The student receives a computer from Tutorial Services. They have the internet installed into their hole. Screen name and password are given to log onto Compass Learning Odyssey tutoring program. Each student takes pre-test o determine learning plan, Individual lessons based on the Maine state benchmarks that the student does poorly on. Student can work in math or Language Arts. A lesson lasts from 5 minutes to 2 hours depending on how well the student can complete the assignment. The program is designed to show where mistakes are made and how to correct those mistakes. Students must show understanding of the material before moving onto the next lesson. All scores and attendance is kept on the server and can be accessed by the parent. For an example, go to www.compasslearningodyssey.com. Click on the button in the lower left hand screen saying “sample activities”. From there you may look at each grade level and something from each subject.
