Creating/Locating a State Staff ID for new Staff

For districts uploading staff data to the state staff data system.

MEDMS will be used exclusively for State Staff Data collection and will be the only system generating State Staff IDs. The following procedure is required for users to add State Staff IDs for new staff into your local information system.

MEDMS URL: https://www.medms.maine.gov/MEDMS/MEDMS_Welcome.aspx

  1. Login to MEDMS
  2. Select: Application: Staff / Action: Add
  3. Enter social security number and click Search
    • If the staff member does not appear, enter the data on the Personal page, click Save and then Next. The State Staff ID will appear in the top right corner of the screen (see image below).
    • If the staff member does appear, the State Staff ID will appear in the top right corner of the screen (see image below).
  4. Copy the State Staff ID and paste it into your local information system to complete an upload to MEDMS.
