Supporting Materials for Implementing the 2007 Learning Results

     The Maine Department of Education is developing several tools to support deeper understanding of the revised Maine Learning Results: Parameters for Essential Instruction for Social Studies. As these materials are finalized, they will be posted on this website.
     The link below provides an introduction to the Learning Results revision process, changes in structure and content for Social Studies standards, and potential considerations for implementing the revised standards.  This is available in both PowerPoint and Flash Presentation formats.  http://www.maine.gov/education/lres/ss/index.html

We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution Level III - High School

     The Center for Civic Education has recently released the new version of the Level III text, We the People.  In order to assist you in understanding the changes and to recognize the many similarities that are now part of this new edition, we invite you to attend a weekend workshop at the Sheraton Braintree Hotel in Braintree, MA. 
     September 12 – 14, 2008 from 7:00 pm on Friday through noon time on Sunday.  ALL TRAVEL, LODGING AND MEALS WILL BE PAID FOR.
