CNA Curriculum
The Maine Board of Nursing increased the minimum CNA program hours from 150 to 180 with an effective date of January 1, 2010. They also introduced a new curriculum.
- For courses which started on or before December 31, 2009: Instructors MUST use the 180-hour curriculum. So long as they cover all the material in this new, 180 hour curriculum, they are not required to increase instructional or clinical time.
- All CNA courses starting on or after January 1, 2010 MUST use the 180-hour curriculum and the CNA program MUST be at least 180 hours in length.
- To download a copy of the new curriculum, click here for a Word file or here for an Adobe file. (Adobe file is much smaller)
