Summer Junior Engineering and Mathematics Program with LEGO Robotics - at USM Portland and UM Orono
Organized by MJETS and MMSETS
Camp activities offer a rich, unparalleled variety of experiences for grades 3-9. Activities include, but are not limited to programming LEGO robotics, solving puzzles, tackling logic and math problems, designing electric circuits, and modular origami. Campers will find opportunities to do collaborative work, to challenge their intellect, to celebrate diversity in problem solving and engineering design.

Problem Solving Skills for grades 5-7 and grades 8-11

Learn creative problem solving for future in engineering or science, improve your SAT score and/or excel in AMC. For grades 8 - 11: Mon. - Wed - Fri, for grades 5-7: Tues.-Thur., all classes 5 p.m. -7 p.m. Courses are limited to 15 participant

3-day long teacher courses offered by MMSETS
- Grades K-3, in Portland, Bangor and Presque Isle (call or e-mail for scheduling) each day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Grades 3-6, in Portland, Bangor and Presque Isle (call or e-mail for scheduling) each day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- If you are interested in a workshop at your school, e-mail for special arrangement
- Each day of the workshops teachers are invited to arrive at 8 a.m. and leave at 4 p.m. and participate additional two hours every day in learning Modular Origami. The workshops are complete without these extra hours. However, if you consider enriching your teaching with Modular Origami, you are invited to add these hours to the workshops. – Our experience show that these two hours are valuable for everybody involved in the workshops. Teachers, who choose not to learn origami, benefit from the ongoing discussion and it serves everybody almost as a “warm-up” and cool-down” for the work of the day.
