The National Institute for Literacy is pleased to announce a new discussion list on the topic of Transitions to Post-secondary Education. The list is moderated by Ellen Hewett from the National College Transition Network (NCTN) at World Education, Inc.

Compare EF-X-132 and MEDMS
We have compiled an Adult Ed MEDMS Report for your program from the last reporting period and is was sent to you. You are to review this against the EF-X-132 you submitted in September and discuss discrepancies with your Business Manager. By December 15th, please send any discrepancy issues that need to addressed here at the Department (to jeff.fantine@maine.gov). Some of you have already done this. Staff at the Department will convene in early January and come up with a response to inform consistency of coding. We will then disseminate written guidance on this and schedule a Connect Pro Meeting to review guidance and for question/answer session.
Some of you have been in contact with me regarding this and have indicated – "I checked with my Business Manager, reviewed EF-X-132 and MEDMS and everything is exact but we used different codes" – please understand that this DOES make a difference and is something we DO need to fix as we are going through our last cycle of dual reporting through EF-X-132 and MEDMS.

Study Identifies Five Statewide Models of Career Pathways

Charting a Path: An Exploration of the Statewide Career Pathway Efforts in Arkansas, Kentucky, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin lays out the strategies these states use to bring colleges, workforce and economic development agencies, community organizations and employers to the table to accomplish this goal. The five states in the study represent three different stages of career pathways implementation: mature, intermediate, and emergent.
