Adult High School Completion

Adult High School Diploma programs are central to the mission and tradition of Maine Adult Education. Governed by state regulations, but implemented locally under local school board policy and direction, the program has two components: Adult High School Diploma and the Tests of General Educational Development (GED).

Adult High School Diploma Program:

These are secondary educational offerings which lead to a high school diploma awarded by the local district.

Because programs vary from location to location, please contact your local Adult Education office for more information.

GED Testing

The Tests of General Educational Development (GED) provide adults with an opportunity to obtain a certificate with the legal standing of a high school diploma through a pre-testing, preparation and testing program. There are 84 GED Testing Centers in Maine.
