Maine GED Transcript Requests

The Maine Department of Education maintains a statewide database containing the records of all those who have been awarded a Maine High School Equivalency Diploma.  Any Maine resident (or non-resident who originally tested at a GED Testing Center/Adult Education Program within the state of Maine) may request a copy of their Official GED Transcript through one of the following ways.**

  • Download the GED Information Request Form - Here
  • Mail the following information to the GED Office, Maine Department of Education, 23 State House Station, Augusta, ME 04333: 1) Full Name (as it was on the diploma); 2) Date of Birth; 3) Social Security Number; 4) Address of where to send the document(s); 5) Telephone number where you can be contacted in case of any questions or problems.

For more information telephone the GED Office, Maine Department of Education (207) 624-6752.

While every effort is made to process requests as quickly as possible, it may take up to two (2) weeks, from receipt of the request, to process and mail the requested documents. Please plan accordingly.

**Those who tested through the International GED Testing Program should go to the International Testing page for information on requesting transcripts. These requests are handled by Prometric not the State of Maine.
