Maine DPS Implementation of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Funds
Welcome to the Maine Department of Public Safety’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act website. On this site, you will find information about the various grants that the Department has applied for under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). You will also find information about grant opportunities that the Department of Public Safety will be offering through a “pass-through” process. The two sections at the left will provide this data. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL RECIPIENTS AND SUB-RECIPIENTS OF ARRA FUNDING PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY This week, the White House Office of Management and Budget released additional Recovery Act Guidance on the Reporting of Use of Funds. That guidance is attached for your review in several pdf files. Please familiarize yourself with the requirements and share the information with all relevant staff members, as this guidance will serve as the basis for fulfilling reporting requirements as required by Section 1512 of the Recovery Act.
ALERT: Important message to all recipients of OJP grants and cooperative agreements regarding ACORNCongress has passed, and the President has signed, the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2010 (Public Law 111-68). Section 163 of the resolution provides as follows: “None of the funds made available by this joint resolution or any prior Act may be provided to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or allied organizations.” Please be advised that, effective immediately, no new subgrant, contract, or subcontract under an Office of Justice Programs (OJP) award may be made to or with ACORN or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or allied organizations without advance written approval from OJP. If, under an OJP award, you already have in place a subgrant, contract, or subcontract with ACORN or any of its affiliates, subsidiaries, or allied organizations, please advise your OJP grant manager in writing within 10 business days of the date of this message. |
