Since 1925, the Maine State Police has been hiring individuals who seek to serve and protect the citizens of the State of Maine while employing our “Core Values” of Integrity, Fairness, Compassion and Excellence. In order to continue to be progressive, we are embarking on an initiative to hire currently certified law enforcement officers, for employment in specific patrol areas located in northern and eastern Maine. If you are a Maine certified law enforcement officer and are interested in a career with the Maine State Police, we will be accepting applications for the following patrol assignments in Aroostook, Penobscot, and Washington Counties:

Northern Aroostook- Zone 1 St. John Valley
Southern Aroostook- Zone 4 Greater Houlton Area
Southern Aroostook- Zone 5 Greater Oakfield/Smyrna Area
Northern Penobscot Enfield to Sherman
Washington/Hancock Cherryfield/Milbridge

The application process for this initiative will be open from February 23, 2012 through March 16, 2012. The selected applicants who successfully complete the hiring process for these positions will be required to complete a nine (9) week advanced training course scheduled to begin on June 11, 2012. Upon graduation and completion of the field training program, the applicants will be assigned to the specific patrol area for which they were hired.
