Computer CrimesThis unit is housed at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro and also has an office at a Lewiston Police Department. The unit is supervised by a State Police sergeant and staffed full-time by two State Police detectives and two Lewiston police officers. In addition, dozens of other police officers around Maine have been trained as associate members. Since its inception in 2000, the unit has analyzed hundreds of computers, the vast majority for child pornography and exploitation. Other crimes the Unit has helped investigate include fraud, robbery, stalking, child abduction and homicide. Sgt. Glenn Lang - 877-8081 |
