![]() Recruit Jon Brown Recruit Brown grew up in St. Albans, Maine, and graduated from Nokomis
Regional High School. He spent 4 years
in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Security Team Member and Scout/Sniper. He was also a corrections officer and
Municipal Police Officer. Recruit Brown
plans to utilize his military experience with the Maine State Police Tactical
Team. ![]() Recruit Paul D. Casey Recruit Casey grew up in Rumford, Maine and graduated from Mountain
Valley High School in 2001. He spent 4
years with the Rumford Police Department Patrol Division. Casey currently resides in Rumford and hopes
to become a member of the Maine State Police Tactical Team. ![]() Recruit Thomas A. Pappas, Jr. Recruit Pappas grew up in Queens, New York. He relocated to Maine in 1998 where he
graduated from Narraguagus High School.
While commercial fishing, he attended Beal College majoring in Criminal
Justice. Pappas worked for the Cumberland County Jail before moving on to the Portland
Police Department in 2006. ![]() Recruit Breanne S. Petrini Recruit Petrini graduated from Winthrop High
School in 2001, and is currently living in Lewiston. She earned a double major
in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Thomas College and is a
Sergeant for the U.S. Army Reserves Unit in Auburn. Recruit
Petrini's goals are to become a K-9 Handler and join the Tactical Team. ![]() Recruit Benjamin
Smith Recruit Smith grew up in South Berwick, Maine.
He graduated from Marshwood High School in 2000. Smith was a
Mortarman in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years and has an AS degree in
Criminal Justice. He attended the New Hampshire Police Academy and
worked for the town of Durham, New Hampshire prior to moving to Maine. He plans
to become a member of the Maine State Police tactical team. ![]() Recruit Christopher D. Smith Recruit Smith grew up in Machias, Maine and graduated from Machias
Memorial High School in 1998. He earned
a BS in Natural Resource Protection from the University of Maine at Presque
Isle. Smith spent 2 years working for
the U.S. National Park Service as a Park Ranger and 4 years working for the
Mount Desert Police Department. He
currently resides in Hancock and hopes to serve as a firearms instructor and
member of the Tactical Team with the Maine State Police. ![]() Recruit Thomas Welch Recruit Welch grew up in Lincolnville, Maine and graduated from
Camden-Rockport High School in 1997. He
spent four years in the U.S. Marine Corps before being hired by the Knox County
Sheriff’s Office in 2001. Welch
currently resides in Liberty, and is a certified Crash Reconstructionist. Welch plans to stay busy with this specialty
as a Maine State Trooper. ![]() Recruit Matthew R. Williams Recruit Williams grew up in Easton, Maine and graduated from Presque
Isle High School in 1997. He spent 8
years in the U.S. Air Force as a military police officer and K-9 Handler. Williams earned an AS in Criminal Justice and
currently resides in Portland. He hopes
to once again handle a canine with the Maine State Police. ![]() Recruit Jason E. Wing Recruit Wing grew up in Winthrop and
graduated from Lewiston High School in 2003. He served 4 years active duty
in the Marine Corps infantry where his training included Antiterrorism,
Advanced Infantry, and Advanced Urban Combat with two combat tours in
Iraq. He would eventually like to be a K-9
Handler with the Maine State Police Tactical Team. |
