Loan Policies (Circulation Guidelines)For fair and efficient use and circulation of resource materials and equipment, please read and follow the following guidelines. Request for MaterialsContact the Media Resource Center and librarian by phone at 207-877-8003 or by e-mail to beverly.klemenc@maine.gov. Requests may also be made via US mail and sent to the Academy with attention made “To the Librarian.” Please include a return address and telephone number. All users must provide adequate contact information including their name, organization if applicable, current address and telephone number. Disclosure of an e-mail address is optional, but often a preferable elective. Making your requests at least two weeks in advance may help to ensure obtaining certain materials. Requests taken on shorter notice may limit availability. CostThere is no cost to members or students of law enforcement for borrowing materials from the Resource Center, except if returning materials by shipment via United Parcel Service or U.S. Mail. Lost or damaged materials may incur a replacement charge to be determined by the Academy. SubstitutionsWhen a specific title is unavailable for shipment on the date scheduled, a substitution will be made from within the same subject area, if possible. If you are unwilling to accept substitutions, please let us know when making your request. ReturnsDue dates may vary according to specific needs and number of requests for similar or the same materials. The Resource Center asks for respectful due diligence when returning materials so that as many patrons can enjoy the benefits of its resources as possible. Repeat disregard for responsible return of materials will result in some kind of disciplinary action, perhaps even loss of Resource Center privileges. RenewalsPlease contact the librarian if you wish to extend the borrowing period for a loaned item. In most cases, arrangements can be made to accommodate changes without inconveniencing others. Duplication of MaterialMost of the materials in the MRC collection are protected by copyright under Title 17 of the United States Code of Federal Regulations. Therefore, material may not be duplicated for any reason. Unauthorized duplication of copyrighted materials will result in immediate cancellation of borrowing privileges. Contact ChangePlease contact the Resource Center if a change of address or telephone contact information is changed. |
