Criminal History Record Information and Juvenile Crime Information Request

Search for an individual's criminal history record based on their full name and date of birth. You will need a credit card to pay for the information.

Criminal Record Challenge Process

An individual may review their own criminal record and then contact SBI in person, via phone, or through the mail with a challenge to any information they believe is incomplete or incorrect. SBI will research the record and, if error is found, make changes to the record.

Seeking Executive Clemency (Pardons and Commutations)

A petition form is available through the Department of the Secretary of State to seek executive clemency for a conviction. Maine does NOT expunge (clear) criminal records.

Sex Offender Registry Search

Search the Maine state Sex Offender Registry for a particular individual or for any registrants in a specified town, city or ZIP code.

FBI Identification Record Request

The FBI allows the public to request copies of their own National Criminal History Record in order to review, challenge, or use the information for official purposes. This process is only for YOUR OWN RECORD and you must provide an original fingerprint card.

National Sex Offender Public Registry Search

This single website run by the Department of Justice allows users to search for sex offenders by Name, ZIP Code, Town, Region and in every state participating in the program.
