School-Located Vaccine Clinics for Influenza
The Maine Department of Education and the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) continue a joint effort to work with Maine schools and community health partners to build a sustainable School-Located Vaccine Clinic for influenza program in Maine schools. The past efforts of school nurses and community health partners led to improved health and attendance of school-aged children. A recent US CDC study found that live attenuated influenza vaccine is only 3% effective in preventing disease. The Maine CDC will not be providing intranasal formulations of influenza vaccine this year.
