Professional Development & Training

The Maine Department of Education is committed to providing professional development programs and resources to support efforts in understanding and implementing the Personalized Alternate Assessment Portfolio (PAAP). The Maine DOE encourages schools and districts to utilize these materials to support a standardized test administration across the state and to assist in the interpretation of the results. PowerPoints for any recordings not embedded within the presentations are available upon request.

Recorded Training

  • Interpreting the PAAP Results. This pre-recorded webinar will assist in the interpretation of PAAP score reports.
  • 2014-15 Introduction to the PAAP. (PDF, 3MB) Offers an introduction to the MEA (Alternate) Science.
  • PAAP Updates. This webinar provides a refresher for those test administrators who have given the PAAP previously and do not need the full, live training.

Training Modules

A series of five online tutorials have been developed to aid educators in the preparation, administration and submission of the PAAP. The Maine DOE recommends having the PAAP Administration Handbook (PDF, 17MB) and the Operational Procedures (PDF, 243KB) on hand as you view these presentations.
