Professional Development & Training

The Maine Department of Education is committed to providing professional development programs and resources to support efforts in understanding and implementing the Maine High School Assessment (MHSA) Program. The Maine DOE encourages schools and districts to utilize these materials to support a standardized test administration across the state and to assist in the interpretation of the results. Recorded Training

  • 2014 MHSA (SAT & Science) Test Administration Webinar. This 35 minute webinar outlines the requirements for the 2014 SAT and science test administration. Any educator with a role in the administration of either the SAT and/or the science test should view this webinar prior to the administration.
  • Understanding & Using MHSA Reporting Data. This webinar is provided to assist educators in increasing their understanding of the types of reports available, the purposes of those reports and how to read the information contained within each report. During this 60-minute webinar, educators will learn how to access Maine science assessment data for grade 11, strategies for using MHSA data to inform instruction and program analysis, and more about the influence that the Next Generation Science Standards is likely to have on science assessments of the future.
  • Student Readiness & Preparation Webinars. Information relative to Maine’s SAT initiative is provided as a resource to help educators enhance student understanding of content and to increase student levels of engagement and responsibility in their own education.
