Approved Exceptionality Courses
Maine requires, based on federal mainstreaming regulations, an approved course that meets the "Teaching Exceptional Students in the Regular Classroom" requirement. The courses listed are pre-approved by the Certification office. If you find a course not on this list, please contact the Department so that it may be approved for you.
Courses
The following courses may be taken for initial certification and for the renewal of a five-year professional certificate. All courses must have been completed since July 1, 1975. Courses are listed alphabetically by college or university.
