This section includes the Maine Department of Education’s Model Policy on Bullying and Cyberbullying and the new law, An Act to Prohibit Bullying and Cyberbullying in Schools (PL 659).
- Maine DOE’s Model Policy for Bullying and Cyberbullying. The Department created this policy to assist SAUs in revising and editing their current policies on bullying and cyberbullying to meet the requirements of the new law.
- PL 659 An Act to Prohibit Bullying and Cyberbullying in Schools. This law was passed in May 2012 and signed by Governor Paul LePage. The Department recommends that school staff be made aware of the law’s requirements and the recommended procedures for all schools.
