Test Results

The Maine Department of Education, in collaboration with the ACCESS for ELLs® (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners) testing vendor, MetriTech, sends score reports to school administrative units. ACCESS for ELLs® score reports will be shipped the week of April 7, 2014.

ACCESS for ELLs® scores can be used to:

  • Monitor student progress on an annual basis
  • Establish when English learners have attained English language proficiency according to State criteria
  • Inform classroom instruction and assessment
  • Aid in programmatic decision-making

  • Listening
  • Speaking
  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Oral Language (Listening, 50 percent; Speaking, 50 percent)
  • Literacy (Reading, 50 percent; Writing, 50 percent)
