Public Invited To Comment On First Roach Pond Plan

AUGUSTA, Maine – (October 16, 2001) Members of the public are invited by the Land Use Regulation Commission to comment on the proposed Concept Plan for First Roach Pond by Plum Creek Land Company and the subdivision applications for the so-called Peninsula, West Shore, and South Shore West lots.

The purpose of the hearing is to allow the applicant, interested groups and the general public the opportunity to present testimony and evidence as to whether the applicant’s proposal meets the statutory criteria for approval under provisions of 12 M.R.S.A., Section 685-A and 685-B.

TIME AND PLACE:

Thursday, October 25, 2001
Greenville Community House, Lakeview Drive, Greenville, Maine
The hearing will begin at 1:00 P.M. and will reconvene at 6:00 P.M.

Testimony from members of the public will be heard during the evening session starting at 6:00 P.M. All interested persons are invited to attend and offer testimony that would have a bearing on this proposal. The public is not required to submit written testimony before the hearing, nor file Petitions to Intervene, in order to testify. Members of the public may simply attend the hearing and give oral testimony. Persons with disabilities planning to attend the hearing are requested to inform the Commission in advance so that arrangements can be made for services they may require.

The record of the October 25, 2001, hearing will remain open for a period of 10 days until Monday, November 5, 2001, to allow interested persons to file written statements with the Commission, and for an additional 7 days until Tuesday, November 13, 2001, to allow interested persons to file written statements in rebuttal of statements filed during the previous 10 day period. The record of the hearing will then close.
