2011 List of Licensed Pesticide Applicators
Willing to Treat Browntail Moth and/or Hemlock Woolly Adelgid
Browntail moth is currently at outbreak levels in the Bath, Brunswick, Topsham, Bowdoinham area of the state. There are also smaller infestations in other locations. Hemlock woolly adelgid is expanding in the midcoast as well in southern Maine. The division obtained a list of pesticide applicators licensed to treat ornamental trees and shrubs from the Maine Board of Pesticides Control and sent a questionare to all licensees to determine whether they would control for browntail moth and/or hemlock woolly adelgid. The questionaire was sent out in late March of 2011. Respondents as of July 1, 2011 are included in the file below. Updates will be made as necessary. The Maine Forest Service does not recommend these above any others. They responded to a letter asking if they wanted to be listed. Others wanting to be listed should contact the Maine Forest Service.
