Preliminary Research & Drafting of the CLUP
Topic-specific Commission panel discussions (ongoing). The Commission will host a series of topic-specific panel discussions and invite speakers to share their thoughts on a variety of topics (such as nature-based recreation, conservation easements, wildlife and fisheries resources, coastal islands, and affordable housing) in order to inform the Commission and its staff about the various issues facing the jurisdiction.
Preliminary discussion drafts presented to the Commission The Commission's staff will develop preliminary drafts of sections of the plan to present to the Commission as discussion documents. These early documents, based on the topic-specific panel discussions and staff research, will provide an opportunity for the Commission to discuss issues, raise questions for further research, and give early feedback to the staff. The Commission's staff will continue to modify these discussion documents in response to Commission comments, ongoing research on the jurisdiction's land use patterns, and comments from public workshops and hearings (see below).
