Maine Eelgrass Maps

Below you will find an interactive Google map which will allow you to navigate throughout Maine's coastline to many clickable points and viewable layers. The points have pop-up menus that may include a short description and date if applicable. The video layer points include a hyper-link to a video of the ocean floor in the vicinity of that point.

Note: Videos are displayed in .mpg format. File sizes range from 3 to 13 megabytes. This service will not be friendly to Dial-up internet users. If you cannot view the videos, please download Quicktime.

instructions

1. Use check boxes below to activate desired layers.
2. Use map controls, including thumb wheel to navigate.
3. Click on a point to view information. The video layer contains links to bottom video in the vicinity of the point.
4. At some scales, layers may not be properly placed. You may need to zoom in or recheck layers to view them in the correct position.
