Coastal Access & Working Waterfronts
- MDOT/Small Harbor Improvement Program: Maine Dept. of Transportation program provides funds to protect/enhance harbor infrastructure
- Right of Way Re-discovery Program: Right of Way Re-Discovery grants, a subset of the Shore and Harbor Planning Grant Program, enable communities to find and assert (or re-assert) public rights-of-way to the shore, which may be lost by the passing of generations and changing land ownership patterns. Maine Coastal Program provides up to $2,500 of assistance for legal research for this purpose.
- Shore and Harbor Planning Grants Program: This program provides funding to promote sound waterfront planning, harbor management, and balanced development of shore and harbor areas to improve marine infrastructure and assure access to the shore. Grants of up to $30,000 are available for municipal and regional projects in coastal towns.
Coastal Community Planning
- Coastal Communities Grant Program: The coastal community competitive grant programs provides funds to towns and regional organizations for projects in the areas of public access, water quality improvement, storm hazard resiliency, and marine-related economic development.
