Licensing

Chairman David Conway led a discussion on licensing. Although the decision has been made to adopt commercial licenses, the sale of commercial licenses will have to be put on hold until July 1st which is six months from the normal sale date. The reason for the delay is lack of enforcement. It was suggested that the commercial licenses be sold along with the other licenses to keep with the ordinance sale dates but that applicants for the commercial licenses be made aware that the licenses will not be valid and cannot be exercised until July 1st.  The Committee approved this suggestion. .

Enforcement

The Chairman announced that due to the inclusion of commercial licenses it will be necessary to hire an additional warden. This will raise enforcement costs to around $5,200. The increase funds will not be available until July 1st and this will cause a delay in commercial harvesting. The Committee approved the hiring of an additional warden and the increase in funding.
