The minutes from the last two Zone E meetings in May and February were approved.
Discussion of change in Bylaws – talked about Section 7, voted to change, unanimous.
DMR Update – Report and update with Carl Wilson. Lobster Advisory Council – allowing F & G fishermen to fish outside 12 mile line/winter fishing only. Discussion on effort – moratorium on all licenses, freeze all students, recreational licenses and new fishermen working up in trap limit; make the ratio as high as we can. Zone E thinks the Effort Questionnaire is too broad.
Ask Commissioner Lapointe to make a change in time of day - that in Zone E - no Sunday fishing all year. One waiting list for all soon to be lobstermen.
Vote on exit ratio using tags; Limited Entry Survey approved to go by tags instead of license, voted to use 5:1 exit ratio using tags, unanimous.
Restrict student license - Motion to send survey to Zone E fishermen on Student Waiting List, unanimous.
Discussion on double tagging in Zone E; 2 yes, 2 no and the rest are unsure.
Lower Limit of Licenses – 30% of 1997 tags, voted unanimous by Zone E.
Seed Fund – Motion for money to be used for Carl Wilson’s research program, approved.
