Beginning with the 2007-2009 licensing period, each Site Evaluator licensee shall earn a minimum of twelve (12) professional development contact hours within each license period in order to obtain license renewal.
A professional development contact hour (50 minutes or more) is part of a formal program designed to increase a participant’s knowledge of the site evaluation process including, but not limited to, soils identification, field data collection and analysis, rule interpretation and application, system design, manual or computer aided drafting techniques, system construction techniques, system inspection techniques, and programs relating to the legal and ethical practice of the profession of Site Evaluation.
To assist Site Evaluators, the Division has assembled a list of programs and seminars that are known to us, below. The Division will also consider other training opportunites on a case-by-case basis as they are presented to us.
2008 Natural Resource Identification and Regulation Workshop
The 2008 MAPSS/MAWS/MASE Natural Resource Identification and Regulation Workshop will be held at
Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine on September 3, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. until 3:30 P.M.
The cost of the workshop is $25.00 for MAPSS/MAWS/MASE members or associate members and $40.00
for all others.

Innovative and Alternative Onsite Wastewater Technology Field Trip to the URI New England Onsite Wastewater Training Center.
The trip takes place on Wednesday, October 8th 2008. The cost is $155 and includes transportation, course materials, training, and lunch.

The Subsurface Wastewater Program's 2008 PowerPoint training presentations are now available for downloading. Please note that these do not include presentations by other participants in the training sessions.
A Microsoft PowerPoint Reader for Windows is available for those who do not have PowerPoint. Apple users will need to save the PowerPoint files, and then import them into a Mac program such as AppleWorks, Keynote, or Office for Mac. The Program is not aware of any Linux readers for PowerPoint.
