Vaccine Related
Primary Activities:
- Distribute approximately 300,000 doses of vaccine, free of
charge, annually to over 700 public and private providers
throughout the state.
- Conduct assessments of immunization levels in schools, day
care and Head Start centers, hospitals, colleges, and public
and private providers' offices.
- Provide professional and public education on immunization
related issues.
- Maintain an Immunization Information Surveillance System
(ImmPact) to electronically track and manage client provider
vaccinations.
- Maintain a surveillance system to detect
vaccine-preventable diseases.
- Conduct outbreak control activities.
- Provide immunization information for foreign travel
- Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment

- Conduct disease investigations to reduce further
transmission of disease
- Coordinate reports of adverse events to vaccines
(VAERS)
