This 2 day domestic violence training is customized for the populations OADS serves. The training focuses on identifying resources from the community that are specially trained to help families and individuals. Guest speakers from the Family Violence Project and other organizations/agencies that are a part of the collaborative community response to domestic violence will speak of their involvement in assisting us in addressing this serious issue. Upon completion, be prepared to: Identify the red flags of domestic abuse, particularly how the "red flags" might appear different in the aged, IDD/DD, GLBTQ or First Nations populations OADS serves. Deliver a better service outcome for clients in domestic violence situations. Some best practice tips around interviewing and intervening in domestic violence situations will be shared.
