Preparation and awareness are essential to remaining safe in the workplace. Paying attention to factors such as the individuals involved, the physical environment, and types of interactions one will be involved in, assist us in planning for a safe work environment. While no training program can guarantee a safe workplace, this one day program will provide a wide range of options available to staff who may encounter angry people or situations with potential risk. A great deal of emphasis will be placed on crisis prevention through verbal and non-verbal management of aggressive behavior, promote the practice of prevention, provide practical de-escalation techniques, and how to apply appropriate consequences to disruptive or threatening behaviors. We will attempt to raise the level of awareness regarding safety and examine the dynamics (and dangers) linked to dealing with angry consumers, vendors and co-workers.

This is not a self-defense course. This program will address safety both in the office and out in the field.
