Message from the Superintendent (January 31, 2007)

In the hope of increasing access to timely informational thought the hospital, to all RPC staff, I have asked Deputy Superintendent Jamie Morrill and the RPC' Management Information Unit…to make sure all staff at Riverview have an e-mail account , address and access to a computer.

They will be working on this issue over the next few weeks. Currently we have approximately 200 separate staff e-mail accounts and we will be expanding that to over 300 fairly soon. So if you are working with or sitting beside a fellow employee who doesn't get this message, because they do not have an e-mail account/address, please pass on to them that help is on the way.

At the same time, while we hope that the 190 computers we currently have in this hospital is adequate to allow every staff person access to a computer, we will be looking at the number and placement of these computers to make sure all staff have reasonable access to hospital information via computers.

The "electronic" information vehicle is only one of several ways we will be working on to improve getting valuable and timely information out to all of you. A newsletter will be going out with the first paychecks in March to augment the hospitals communication system. I am optimistic that this too can be an effective and meaningful tool.

As always, thank you all for your good work.

David S. Proffitt,
