Riverview Psychiatric CenterMessage from the Superintendent (September 15, 2006)“Everyone who got where he is, had to begin where he was." - Richard L. Evans Reviewing some information on the SAMHSA web page the other night, (www.samhsa.gov) I found a link identifying “10 Fundamental Components of Recovery”. I would like to share these with you over the next few weeks. This is not because I believe none of you know these, just I want to remind you and maybe give you a topic to discuss with one of the people we serve. Here is one of the components listed;
I like this statement as it reminds me that the service we provide needs to be delivered in a way that is sensitive to the total human condition and the breath of influences in our lives. Through maintaining a view to the total person, the varying supports and strengths they each have access to, we can maximize therapeutic gain and enhance personal growth and recovery. I hope everyone, clients and staff, get an opportunity to enjoy the pizza. This is provided to acknowledge the great efforts all have made in making Riverview safer and healthier for everyone. Good job. I also want to say a special thanks to our housekeeping department and the great job they do! The cleanliness and appearance of our facility sets the stage for all other work done here. I appreciate the hard work they put in everyday to keep Riverview looking good. I would also ask that each of us take a moment to thank them in person and take care to not contribute to their work load unnecessarily. As Always, Thank you for your good work. David S. Proffitt “I believe in what I do, and I'll say it." - John Lennon "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." - Henry David Thoreau
