“The highest of distinctions is service to others.” ~ King George VI
Riverview had a surprise this week when a team of eight arrived Tuesday morning to complete a verification survey for CMS. CMS, I am told, identifies one facility each year in Maine to have a mid point unscheduled survey to confirm the meeting of the CMS Conditions of Participation. Although a little uncomfortable, it is an important activity that helps assure our clients, the public and us, that we are maintaining high quality in the services we deliver. This is a facility that has a treasured mission of service that we should all take great pride in. I know I do. The work that you do directly helps others. That is true if you are in nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, administrative support, rehabilitation, business office, staff development, security, or any other position at Riverview. The overall goal of this review team is the same as our goal, to ensure the best treatment and services to those we serve.
On Monday I got the opportunity to welcome a new class of Riverview Employees. A fine class it is! What I learned was very uplifting. Several new employees stated that they came to Riverview after hearing employees stating that it was a great place to work. Thank you Robin St Pierre, Lori White, Roxanne Perkins, Colleen Cutler, and Sheila Hall for your good ambassadorship on behalf of Riverview. The goal here is to be the, “Employer of Choice”. By being the Center of Excellence for public mental health services, the best will seek Riverview as the place to serve others. And do to your work, everyday, in everyway, Riverview gets better and better!
As always thank you, each for your good work this week.
In Service,
David S. Proffitt
