"I do not think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday." - Abraham Lincoln
There have been some organizational changes that I want to pass on to you directly from me. First, several months ago, Lauret Crommett, agreed to take on the additional task of developing the hospitals Quarterly QA Plan. For those of you who have been participating in this planning process (practically everyone in the hospital) and those of you who have been reading the finished product (everyone?), Lauret has done a great job, and I want to publicly thank her. However, her real love has always been the Education and Training efforts within the hospital. Over the past few months Lauret and I have been reminded how important a comprehensive, relevant training program is to hospitals achieving excellence. Thus, Lauret's new challenge will be developing a hospital wide, discipline specific / unit based educational program, and eventually individual staff education plans. Again, thanks Lauret for your work on QA and we are pleased you will be focusing on this next critical area of the hospital. Picking up the QA effort will be Barbara Sylvester-Pellet, (BJ). BJ will also supervise Infection Control and Utilization Review. Medical Records, (formally under Lauret) will move to Jamie Morrill.
All of this is to keep important initiatives moving forward and to enable us to focus on staff strengths.
I also want to remind people of our free Bowling and Pizza night this Monday. If you are interested, you will need to contact Charlotte today so the Bowling Ally can plan for pizzas.
I also want too thank Dr. Mayo for going to Lewiston yesterday and providing training to Lutheran Services staff in self-harm behaviors/interventions. This kind of community outreach is very important to this hospital and the community. Good job Teresa!
Finally, I want to acknowledge the work of our NAPPI Instructors….and let them know and the hospital know that their work is very much appreciated. As such, and at the recommendation of members of Executive Management, we will be developing ways to formally recognize the NAPPI Trainers for the extra effort they make to keep our staff and clients safe. I am also encouraging staff to think of other "groups of excellence" in this hospital to be honored.
Please think about it….and as always…..thanks for the work
