Mental Health Worker I

These positions are located at Riverview Psychiatric Center in Augusta on second (2:45pm to 11:15pm) and third shift (10:45pm-7:15am). Overtime is required.
Job duties:
Riverview Psychiatric Center is seeking Mental Health Workers to provide paraprofessional support work involving the direct care, rehabilitation, and behavior modification of patients in state institutions. Responsibilities include implementing programs in the treatment or education of the mentally ill, providing direct patient care, and maintaining resident areas. Employees may act as group leader or primary aide over an assigned group of patients. Work is performed under general supervision.
Minimum Qualifications/License Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Department approved training or current valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant as issued by the Maine Department of Education. To be considered, applicants without a CNA must have one year of direct care mental health experience and be able to get their license at their own expense within 6 months.
