Mental Health Worker I

Code: 4015
Range: 11     $11.55/hr-$14.84/hr. (plus $1.00/hr direct care stipend)

Overtime is required.

Job duties:  
Riverview Psychiatric Center is seeking Mental Health Workers to provide paraprofessional support work involving the direct care, rehabilitation, and behavior modification of patients in state institutions. Responsibilities include implementing programs in the treatment or education of the mentally ill, providing direct patient care, and maintaining resident areas. Employees may act as group leader or primary aide over an assigned group of patients. Work is performed under general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications/License Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Department approved training or current valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant as issued by the Maine Department of Education. To be considered, applicants without a CNA must have one year of direct care mental health experience and be able to get their license at their own expense within 6 months.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field and two (2) years of nursing experience OR graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus three (3) years of professional nursing experience.  Experience must include one (1) year of related supervisory experience as a head nurse.

Registered Nurses

Hospital Nurse II
Range 20 ($18.20 - $23.68) – plus .60/hr direct care & $3.00/hr stipend
Minimum Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field OR graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus one (1) year of professional nursing experience.

Hospital Nurse III – Charge Nurse

Range 22 ($19.55 – $25.62) – plus .60/hr direct care & $3.00/hr stipend
Minimum Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field and two (2) years of nursing experience OR graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus three (3) years of professional nursing experience.  Experience must include one (1) year of supervisory experience as a head nurse.
