Phone: 207-624-4674 Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for functioning of the hospital and attached clinic. Last Superintendent of the Augusta Mental Health Institute and first Superintendent of Riverview Psychiatric Center began his term in Maine on 6/14/04. Arriving from Nevada, he held the position of Director of Outpatient Services for Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Institute; he has BS from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a MS from Arizona State University. Experienced as Clinical Director at the Montana State Hospital, and positions at the Wyoming State Hospital, Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute and the Arizona State Hospital, he has a history of public service. His academic and practice background is in Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
Phone: 207-624-4657 Responsibilities: Supervision over medical staff and over quality of medical care. Dr. Nelson has been serving as Medical Director of the Riverview Psychiatric Center (formerly AMHI) since June of 2002. He also serves as Professor of Psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School. He is a board-certified psychiatrist in the specialties of adult and geriatric psychiatry. He is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and an active member of the Maine Psychiatric Association and the Maine Medical Association. He is a graduate of Duke University, West Virginia University, and the University Connecticut Health Center. He is the author of over 50 publications and major national and international presentations.
Phone: 207-624-4675 Responsibilities: Responsible over fiscal and administrative support services. Jamie Morrill received an AA decree, University of Maine and BS degree University of Maine. Jamie has over 30 years of State experience, 17 of which have been as a senior level Deputy. He has received several Commissioners Awards including one from DHS Commissioner, one from Dept of Mental Health Commissioner and Commissioners Award from Dept of BDS. He started his career as a Psychiatric Aid in 1971 at AMHI. His career includes serving as the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant to the Commissioner, Regional Director and Acting Superintendent at AMHI/ Deputy Superintendent at Riverview.
Phone: 207-624-3909 Responsibilities: Develop, coordinate and implement staff education programming to maintain and advance the quality of the work force. Lauret has been employed at Riverview Psychiatric Center for 4 1/2 years. Lauret has a diploma in Nursing from Maine Medical Center in Portland, a Bachelors degree in Community Health Education from the University of Maine Farmington and a Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda University in California. She has taught clinical nursing at the College level and has been the Director of Education here and at a nearby General Hospital for many years. Lauret came to Riverview as the Assistant Director of Nursing with a focus on education. Janet steadfastly presents the best for her clients and her profession while maintaining a professional demeanor. Her knowledge of the field of Rehabilitation is impressive, continually increasing and most admirable. Her organizational skills are impressive as she seems to have an excellent grasp of concepts which promote increased efficiency and effectiveness. She consistently demonstrates respect, caring and compassion in her interactions with clients. Janet's enthusiasm, creativity, work ethic and sheer persistence have been monumental in engaging clients in their own recovery.
Phone: 207-624-4664 Responsibilities: Responsible for clinical services, care planning and delivery. Teresa has been at Riverview Psychiatric for the past 7 years. Prior to becoming Responsible for clinical services, care planning and delivery she was the founding director of the hospital’s treatment mall, a centralized hospital-wide group treatment program. Dr. Mayo received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maine at Orono, and her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from University of Denver. Her area of specialty is in trauma and abuse. Dr. Mayo has worked in a variety of educational and mental health care settings and is a former Peace Corps volunteer.
Phone: 207-624-4676 Responsibilities: Collect and Analysis critical data to support performance measurement and decision making. Ms. Pellett received her BSN from the University of Bridgeport, in Connecticut in 1976. She has enjoyed a variety of nursing opportunities and adventures during her thirty years of nursing service. Barb has varied experience in hospitals, out-patient clients and state public health services. She has coordinated the state-wide Healthy Kids Program for Public Health Nursing for over 10 years and was a leader in many of the initiates to improve comprehensive services to children and pregnant women in the state of Alaska during those years. |
