  • Food Stamps - Helping low-income people buy food

  • Adult Day Services - Adult Day Services provide social and health services designed to meet individual needs. Services may include: meals; social, physical and educational activities; information and referral; assistance with personal care and activities of daily living; and health monitoring. Includes an Adult Day search site.
  • Aging and Disability Resource Center - "One-stop-shops" to answer questions from older adults, or from any individuals with disabilities, about a wide range of in-home, community-based, and institutional services.
  • Assisted Living Facilities - A searchable listing of Assisted Living Facilities in Maine.
  • Financial Eligibility - If you can't afford to pay for medical care right now, MaineCare may make it possible for you to get the care that you need so that you can get healthy - and stay healthy. Some MaineCare services, such as nursing home care and in-home services require you to be both financially and medically (see above) eligible.
  • Home Care: Where to Find It - Services and financial assistance available to help people stay at home.
  • Long-term Care
  • Medical Eligibility Assessment (MeCare) - A free assessment used to determine medical eligibility for a number of long-term care programs. (Note: the assessment is required of all people interested in entering a nursing home.)
