Alcohol Server Curricula available in the State of Maine
Having a comprehensive policy for selling alcohol is important. One piece of your plan should include responsible beverage server-alcohol server courses for anyone selling or serving alcohol in your establishment. Having employees participate in this training may result in an insurance discount through your carrier (please contact your carrier to determine if they offer these discounts) as well as potentially reduce penalties if you're ever sued according to the Maine Liquor Liability Act.
The courses below are being used in the State of Maine for server/retail training,
however they are not all certified by the Department of Public Safety. In order
to become certified, you must take a course listed on
the Department
of Public Safety web site at: http://www.maine.gov/dps/liqr/contact.html#training
NOTE: Some of these courses are open to the public, and some are internal
courses offered only by specific employers.
