PMP Web Portal

Goold Health Systems (GHS) has developed a web portal to access Prescription Monitoring Program data. The data is currently collected bi-monthly from all pharmacies licensed to dispense controlled substances in the state. To gain access to the database online, you must first register as a Data Requester at www.maine.gov/pmp.

Registration

  1. Go to www.maine.gov/pmp.
  2. Click on the Prescription Monitoring Program banner in the center of the page.
  3. Click on the “User Registration” tab.
  4. Fill in the information on the first form. Required fields are marked with an asterisk. Click “Next.”
  5. Select “Data Requester” in the User Type section. Click “Next.”
  6. Fill in Data Requester information. Click "Next."
  7. Type the letters and/or numbers in the security image. Click “Submit.”
  8. Wait for an approval email message. (The approval process can take up to two business days.)

If you have questions about the registration process, please call the Maine PMP Technical Helpdesk at 866-749-7838.

Once registered and approved by OSA, you will receive an email with your username and a link to set up your password. Once you have set up your password, you can generate reports at www.maine.gov/pmp.

Online Reports

To generate online reports, use your username and password to log in to the portal at www.maine.gov/pmp. This portal allows registered prescribers (for patients under their care) and dispensers (for customers seeking to have a prescription filled) to enter a last name, first name, and date of birth to generate a report of all scheduled drugs dispensed to that person (Schedule II, III, and IV). (The whole process takes about 5 to 10 minutes.) To provide the appropriate security for access, all account passwords must be changed every 180 days (the system will prompt users to change their passwords).

Sub-accounts

Once you are registered to use the PMP portal, you can create sub-accounts under your account. Sub-accounts are intended for other "licensed health care professionals" (e.g., nurses) under your supervision. For step-by-step instructions, click here (sub-account set-up - Word version for easy printing).
