Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey (MIYHS)

In 2009, the Maine Youth Drug and Alcohol Use Survey (MYDAUS) was replaced by the Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey (MIYHS). The MIYHS is a joint effort of OSA, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (DHHS-Maine CDC), and the Department of Education. The MIYHS covers a broad array of health topics, including substance use, unintentional injury, suicide/depression, physical activity and nutrition, and sexual behaviors, and includes a module administered to parents of kindergarten children or third graders, a module for 5/6 th graders and 4 modules each for 7/8th graders and high school students. The next MIYHS will be administered in February of 2013. Follow the links on this page for more information.

ATTENTION: 2011 and Reweighted 2009 MIYHS High School, Middle School, and fifth/sixth grade data are now available upon request for School Superintendents or their designee. All final reports are expected to be available on the Statewide MIYHS site by June 2012.
